Quick hike to tag another winter peak before spring sets in tomorrow at 11:33 am. Low-lying fruit for sure and no water crossings. Quite a bit of traffic on this trail and its very fast. I started off bare-booting but quickly put on the traction and hit the higher gears. Not much post holing but there is one section of pure, hard ice for about 100 yards which didn't cause any problems mainly because its not steep. Crossed paths with a Mass hiker who had also done Cabot earlier in the day...oh to be young again! We talked about the connector trail (York Pond?) from Cabot to Waumbek and he said he had done it last summer and it was great...its on my radar. |
