Previous posts (nice to chat with you all!) of the upper trail conditions are spot on but, as we were late in getting out I wanted to update conditions on the lower two miles of the Gale River trail and the road walk/Beaver Brook segment. SLOPFEST! At 3:00pm all of the snow was quickly turning to clear slush then pools of water. Slush/water were unavoidable in these sections and probably won't firm up overnight so be prepared for several miles of unpleasant conditions. No footware will help, other than waterproof boots.
Great day with Chris, Renee, Sarah and Michael, with Renee finishing her winter 4K's on South Twin! |
