Nice late afternoon hike
of Mt Garfield. Arrived at the summit for a great sunset. Trail was well broken with snow levels at lower elevations from 6" to approaching a foot at upper elevations. A huge thanks to the trailbreakers for breaking through what looked like some epic drifts. Trail at lower elevations was chewed up by barebooters but was again smoothed nicely by a hiker and their two children in snowshoes who looked like they had a great time up there. i hope you two see the moose!Garfield Ridge Trail NB from summit intersection up into Tensite was unbroken with a thick blanket of powder. Spring is running. Crossing spring heading towards tensite is quite a step had to kickstep and crawl a bit. |
