Comments: Beautiful day to be out in the Kinsmans! I was fortunate to follow a pair of hikers who broke trail all the way to South Kinsman peak. The snow depth ranges from 3" in the parking lot, to 1" in shaded spots along the first mile of the trail, to 4-6" at the midpoint, to 6-12" higher up. In the last half mile before reaching the Ridge, and then along the Ridge Trail, there are some impressive wind-driven drifts – I measured one drift at least 42" (three and a half feet) deep!

I was surprised to see no tracks on the Ridge Trail inbound from Kinsman Junction, but on my way down I passed several groups of hikers who had come up that way and thus had broken out a route all the way from Lafayette Place to Lonesome Lake to Fishin' Jimmy to Kinsman Ridge.
