There was one hiker in front of us in snowshoes and he broke the trail out all the way to the summit. Thank you! He took the right at the split below the summit. First time going up counterclockwise. It was tough for me on one of the steep sections. Lots of ice under the snow and I kept sliding backwards. This would be easier for taller people. Finally made it up this part and made it to the summit. We decided to keep going counterclockwise and broke out the trail back to the split. It was a nice sidewalk snowshoe trail until we passed about 25 hikers on their way up. All were in spikes except 4 in snowshoes and one skinning up on skis. The trail was pretty churned up. A few were going to put on their snowshoes. Thank you! Hope they were able to smooth out the trail. |
