Awesome day on Moosilauke. The trail was partially broken when I arrived. There was 3 people ahead of me. The guy that broke trail was in spikes. Other two were in shoes. A older gentleman passed me in shoes. I saw a lot of people and only 4 were wearing spikes. I wore spikes to the summit but only the last .3 miles. I could’ve stayed in shoes though. Wind gust were strong at the summit so balaclava and goggles were needed. The trail down was in amazing shape but 3 people wearing spikes came down after me so I’m not sure what it looks like now. Number 4 of 48 in the books. I’m staying up here tonight so I can hit another peak tomorrow. Gas prices (and returning to work) are probably gonna stop me from coming back for awhile. |
