Comments
Comments: Solo out and back to Flume over Liberty from the Basin.

About 6" of fresh powder on the bike path. There were a few sets of tracks from those before me which continued on to the trailhead. LST had a good amount of traffic with about 10 other hikers ahead of me. I ended up catching the leading group about .5 from the tent site and ended up breaking trail from there to Flume.

The fresh snow increased in depth to over 12" approaching the ridge. There was some considerable drifting with some well over 30" deep before the summits. Both peaks were a mix of exposed rock and sections of blue ice, snowshoes stayed on all day. My return trip to Liberty from Flume was made easier once crossing paths with a group of three who helped pack down the trail.

These trails are usually very busy on weekends and today was no exception. Encounted many other hikers, most in snoweshoes but a few groups in boots.
