From Rt 145, I drove Creampokd are, then Mudget Mountain Rd as far in as I could. My car (even with new tires) still couldn’t quite make it to the top of the road where the jar is but made it to Holmes Ln. An AWD car with snow tires could likely make it all the way. When my car couldn’t make it, I carefully backed down, turned around, and parked in a plowed out spot. Note that the road is signed as private at its jct with Creampokd Rd. |

Day 131, Peak 114. 1st hike of the day. From my parking spot, I continued walking up the road for roughly 1/4mi to the summit where there is a jar, many old trucks, and some sort of building. I forget who owns it. The walk back down was a little icy. Some may feel better in spikes. Seems possible that we could lose access to this one soon so get it while you can! Note that Gaia does not show the end of the road where it truly goes. Took less than 20min to do the whole hike. 234 more days and 251 more peaks to go… Also, this may be the shortest report you ever see from me ;) |
