Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Blazing is consistent. The trail sign marking Livermore summit spur is a bit askew. It looks like trail is supposed to go straight when it clearly is either a left or a right option. We had the good timing of running into a local at the junction who clarified that we should take a left. There is also an arrow etched into sign pointing south- wouldn’t hurt to color that in with yellow :)
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw one happy pup.
Bugs
Bugs: Saw some snow flees
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Gloves at kiosk

Comments
Comments: Wanted a short hike later in the day to enjoy the emerging sun. Mission accomplished. Trail is a mix of packed mash potatoes and large hard ice. Wore spikes for parts of hike. Otherwise bare boats. The uphill to Cotton was steady and sketchy in some of the steeper parts. What wasn’t slippery mashed potatoes was just bare slick ice. We found bushwhacking around these sections worked best. From Cotton to Livermore is a pretty walk in the woods. Ascent to Livermore was made much better with the abundant switchbacks. Views of Squam were outstanding. It’s an easy walk out along Prescott, Old Highway and the very short road walk.
