Comments
Comments: We started up the trail around 2:30pm and it was 50 degrees. The entire trail was slush. Only at the very beginning of the trail was the ice still hard. Not nearly enough snow for snowshoes and microspikes wouldn’t help so you’ve just got to slip and slide your way up and down and be prepared to fall on your ass ;) The trail is at a generally moderate grade ascending just under 500ft in 0.7mi.

This was my 4th time on this peak. 2nd time since moving to this wonderful town. I think I’m more and more amazed by it each time I summit. There’s just something special about it for me. For one, the view is pretty damn spectacular for such a small and easy peak. You can see the cliffs on Mt Forist, windmill on Jericho Mtn, Black Crescent behind, Wildcat A, Carter Notch, Carter Dome, North Carter, Imp Face, Moriah, Middle Moriah, and the southern and middle Mahoosucs. What may be even more special though is the fact that I can look out over the beautiful city in which I live and recognize the schools at which I’ve worked, the paper mills that I drive by everyday, my church, old crumbling buildings with interesting history, and so much more. So grateful for this town and its people. A very special place to me and a wonderful peak to take a friend on for his first hike :D
