Comments: Beautiful day for this! For me, it was an Imelda Marcos hike (for those who may not remember, she was the former first lady of the Philippines, the one with 5000 shoes). In other words, I had a variety of footwear. Snowshoes because I care, spikes if needed, and crampons if the North lived up to its icy reputation. Spikes and crampons went for a ride. Many others got by with spikes. Lost a lot of time ascending the north, a few places I did not think I would get up. Anyone thinking of this in the near future, you will really need some bite!

Memory is a tricky thing. We were last there on Mother's Day 2012. I remember views from the ledge but not many along the ridge. Yesterday was amazing. I don't know whether it was the snow pack or the mini firwaves, but there were quite a few views yesterday. Most were minorly obstructed, but lovely views nonetheless. The ridge seemed more "up and down" than it did 10 years ago, but no big deal. The one consistency is that South Hancock looked far away, but it didn't take long (not even for slow old me) to get there. Slid part of the way down on the south.

Beautiful winter hike. Prema is now 1/4 finished for the winter list (not quite so with me - couldn't get the last few hundred yards of Jackson a few years ago).
