Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: I parked about 1/4mi beyond the southern end of Under the Mountain Rd where it forks and becomes Brook Rd and Moulton Hill Rd. The was just south of a house at a gated road. Parking was roadside but I had plenty of room. The roads in were a mix of dirt, snow, and ice but are well travelled given that there’s many homes back here. A bit hilly but should be doable by any car. My Fwd vehicle did just fine.

Comments
Comments: Day 124, Peak 103. 2nd hike of the day after Signal Mtn. I started up at 10am so it was no longer sub zero temps and things were warming up nicely under beautiful blue skies :)

I started up the gated road. Though the woods around it are posted for a ways the road itself is not. The snowshoe tracks of the group that did this Wednesday had partially disappeared on the road and another snowshoer had been in there so I had to make sure I followed the tracks on the correct road when it branched further up. I followed their tracks along a road until about 1700ft where it ended. This was about 2/3 of the way to the peak. The road was gently graded, but from here to the summit, the bushwhack was steep. Mostly open woods from here to the peak. Snow, especially on the road, was quite minimal in depth and there was some black ice hiding underneath the snow on the road. I had some nice views coming back down the road.

Quick and easy hike clocking in at 3mi with 1100ft of gain, taking me just over 1.5hrs to complete. 241 more days and 262 more peaks to go…
