Beautiful blue bird day! We bare booted Zealand Rd with no issues. Shoes on for Hale Brook, stayed on the rest of the day. Amazing frost covered trees on top. Met 1 who came up Lend-A-Hand who broke out the lower portion. He met 2 breaking trail from the top. 1 came up via Fire Wardens Trail on a split board, he said it to is broken out. Lend-A-Hand is unconsolidated powder, with hidden post holes on the sides. Both of us found these several times. Bailed on Zealand legs weren’t feeling it today. Met 1 who rode Fat Tire Bike to hut. He said 3 in bear boots chopped up trail. Thanked us at summer lot for smoothing it out. Enjoyed a stashed beer at Hale Brook Trailhead. Death march out was the most wind we encountered today. 6 on skis for night at hut. |
