| Comments: |
Trail is relatively soft from the snowstorm this week. It becomes softer and looser from 2500 feet (about a mile in and before the “view” and the sharp right turn) all the way to the summit. There were some above-knee drifts just before the summit - via the left fork.
I saw 5 others with snowshoes today but 3x that number in spikes only. The trail is >not< hard-packed so all those spikes churned it up from bottom to top and back down.
Choose boots or spikes Saturday to intentionally keep churning it up and work harder for traction, or wear snowshoes out of consideration for the safety and enjoyment of your fellow hikers - and to help pack the trail - and maybe even make your ascent easier with televators! |
