Comments
Comments: Maybe 1" to 3" of new snow yesterday or earlier this week, with some minor drifting at elevation. I wore micros for the road walk, but you could probably bare-boot the road if you were so inclined. I put my snowshoes on at the trailhead, but there is very little depth of snow on the trail for the first mile or so, and micros would be fine until about the halfway point. Definitely snowshoes for the upper half of the trail. Looked like one person had gone up (but not down) yesterday and had broken out most of the trail, except where it had drifted overnight, so that was a bonus. I just kept my snowshoes on for the entire descent and back to the car because I was too lazy to take them off.

Really cold this morning, like -10 at the trailhead. No wind on the trail, but the winds at the summit made it unbearably cold to hang out, which was kind of a bummer because the views were amazing.

Nice chatting with a group near the trailhead on the return. Fyi, the brand for the chest pack is Hill People Gear and its called a "kit bag." A lot of their stuff is sort of military and/or tacticool, but the chest pack is decent and works great for keeping whatever you want handy within easy reach.
