Gorgeous day out there! About 4" of fresh powder consistently, but when you get higher drifting makes it quite a bit deeper unexpectedly. Similarly, winds mean that you might expect 4-6" of snow and then step hard on a barely-covered rock. Ice apparent underneath snow. We wore snowshoes the whole way and broke trail up until we got to the final Gunstock trail, where someone wearing microspikes had been first. Snowshoes recommended, for yourself and for others on trail after you. |
