| Comments: |
two people ahead of me on ascend; total of approx. 10 hikers (I lost count); all but one in snowshoes; even with so many of us passing over the fresh powder with snowshoes, the trail isn't consolidated yet; it's still loose powder; some bigger drifts on the ridge; snowshoes recommended for higher elevation; bareboating or light traction for first mile of trail or so; some significant thick ice bare in three spots when ascending to Starr King (I was happy for my mountaineering snowshoes; they gave excellent grip on ascend and descend in those sections)
Brewster--nice to (finally) meet you and put a face to the trail reports I have been reading :)
Denise, thank you again for being the first on the trail and breaking trail!
