 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Parking lot was not plowed, but there has been enough traffic to tamp it down. AWD should be fine to drive up to it but I suggest all other vehicles to park on the shoulder off Rt. 49. Right before the lot there is a road that leads to an electrical station. It's plowed but there is a sign that says no parking. |

 | Surface Conditions: |
Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular, Snow - Drifts |
|
 | Recommended Equipment: |
Snowshoes |
|
 | Water Crossing Notes: |
No problem crossing Drakes Brook. |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
There is large blowdown after the Wilderness sign requiring an ax...hikers are walking around it. On the Jennings Spur...very minor step over...at least because of the snow depth. |

 | Comments: |
Up and down Drake's Brook. We wore snowshoes from start to finish. A dusting of snow on a packed powder surface on top of hard pack. The Jennings Peak Spur had snow drifts we had to break through. The most dramatic part of the hike was once we reached Jennings Peak clifftop perch the wind was howling, the snow falling down was horizontal and it was certainly below zero wind chill! A few steep sections resulted with some unplanned butt sliding on descent.
