Comments
Comments: Nice hike of Mt Carrigain. Trails are solid with an inch or two of loose powder on top. I took in total 3 sections of the old trail today and appears 2 of the 3 sections have seen more use than main trail in the past few days. Bareboots until Signal Ridge Trail then micros until approx 2200 feet where shoes went on to break out a small section of the old trail on the first switchback on the initial pitch.Shoes stayed on till just before water crossings on the return hike. There are spots of drifting at upper elevations but overall travel was nice throughout. Snow showers encountered just before summiting and low wind with the exception of the very spicy gusts encountered on the observation tower. i crossed paths with four others enjoying this day.
