Instead of three reports, since conditions were similar, I decided to post just once. Henniker area had full coverage, we wore snowshoes to help with traction. We went up advanced snowshoe trail but left it when I was unable how it wound up the hill. I had Bushwhacked four previous times before the advanced trail was marked.
As expected more snow in Franconia Notch, but still not a lot for late February. Saw about 18 people all day, two wore snowshoes, one had G-12's the rest wore micros. On occasion Flume and Liberty barely visible through the weather, most of the time, they were hidden. We stopped at the Ravine before Pike's Peak on Plymouth more drifting in the woods than I would have expected the two steep short spots as you approach the ravine were icy, one of us walked down, I glissaded. Saw no one on Plymouth. Again, full coverage but not typical 2/28 depths. |
