Iron Mtn. Road is closed past the gate -so a nice 1 mile walk up to the start -views are awesome of the Presi’s a surrounding area so well worth the walk in. |

We had a terrific hike up Iron Mountain -bluebird blue skies and amazing views across to the Presi’s and other nearby ranges -really stunning and unique. Trail was broken out by folks staying at one of the local cabins. Local folks were packing the road down and skiing down -looked so fun! Nice switchbacks made for a quick ascent. It was getting colder/ windier by the top so we decided to save heading across to the southern ledges for another day -such a great mountain we are looking forward to getting back up there! |
