Comments
Comments: A dusting of snow overnight. The initial stretch of trail around the kiosk only had a few inches of powder. Beyond there, there were areas of blue ice (discovered by what looked to be a few slips/falls) and otherwise packed powder on top of hardpack. A few small areas of slush. The blue ice would have outmatched Microspikes on the descent (could see where folks were tramping around off trail), but snowshoes provided adequate traction (larger crampons with a broader distribution).
