Comments
Comments: Winds were forecasted to be high, but taper off as the afternoon progressed. When we reached the junction of Crawford and Webster Cliff to head across the ridge to Eisenhower, the wind wasn’t strong at all. We managed to stick to micro spikes for the heavier trafficked trails, and our snowshoes for short stretches. Webster Cliff heading down to Mizpah hut and up to Jackson’s summit would recommend snowshoes as it wasn’t as packed as Crawford or Pierce summit. Eisenhower summit cairn is much smaller than it was over the summer...not sure why. Also people have tracked an “alternative summit trail” on Gaia and it is packed out but I don’t believe it is a recognized trail.

Mizpah has nice new siding, makes it much more visible from Jackson. Be sure you are going the right way to descend Jackson, we redirected a few folks at least once...some twice. Flying rats were present on Jackson, and happy to take your offerings.

Quite a lot of people out, seems like a lot of people had the holiday off. One woman from a group of four muttered “This is too many people for me” We both agreed she wasn’t going to like the conga line that had formed heading up to Eisenhower while we were descending. Only saw six other people all day who were either carrying or wearing snowshoes.
