 | Comments: |
After the rain/melt/freeze micro-spikes were best for the trail. Currently plenty of ice on the trail, April-like conditions and the usual areas are the worst. With fresh snow coming the ice will be hidden, but you will want snowshoes or traction on the fresh powder. The good news is the snow off trail is as solid as the trail!
On my way down I skipped the section that slabs the side of the lower ridge - all ice - and went off trail along the top of the ridge. Easy as walking on a lawn! The old snow pack is solid underfoot. I barely left tracks. |
