Spring-like conditions. Narrow center of path beaten down but the surrounding snow was soft enough to easily posthole. Snowshoes were perfect for the trail conditions, unfortunately they weren’t adequate as floatation devices. The river at the gem pool was moving fast and high, and nothing was bridged. Searched down stream for possible crossing with no success. Decided to tackled another day.
Encounter 2 people heading up on our descent, jeans and bare boots, said they were headed to Monroe…… |
