Snowshoes |

| Water Crossing Notes: |
Several water crossings. All were hoppable if you are careful and look for a good spot to cross. Don't trust any snow that looks like an ice bridge. Might be different if things freeze again. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
A little bit of everything. Heavy wind last night blew a lot of branches around. Looked like there was at least one new tree that came down in middle of trail. Easy to walk around. |

| Comments: |
Trail was better than expected considering it rained last night and warm temps. I was able to wear snowshoes the entire hike and felt it was the right choice for today's conditions. Trail was still soft in spots and care needed to be taken to stay on the packed trail. I occasionally post holed in snowshoes, if I stepped off the trail or hit a soft spot. Water crossings were not impossible, but required some caution to hop across safely. Trail is not the nice trench that was present on trails before the recent rain falls. So when going to South, it was a little tricky seeing where the trail was. The monorail (???) was not as nicely packed. Might have bushwacked a little bit to South, sorry. Saw one person on trail and I believe he continued on from South toward whiteface and passconaway, but not totally sure. These conditions will be different when things freeze again of course. |
