Line Kiln Rd turns into dirt which has some serious ditches from warmer mud days. Today they are all frozen solid. Parking for about 4 cars is plowed. Icy lot and trail. |

Trail is extremely icy. I used trail pro crampons the whole way. Would have liked an ice axe in spots, but poles were working with some extra force and I was careful to slow down and be sure every foot and pole was planted before moving forward. I saw 2 guys with micro spikes so I guess it’s possible if you choose your route carefully, but I would recommend something more aggressive. Fabulous and numerous views! |
