As recommended in Jay Baxter’s report on Sunday, stay to the right and keep north as you ascend the Engine Hill Bushwack. Many of us early hikers started down to Isolation trail too early(at about .3 Miles) due to several inches of new and some drifting snow the night before. Some of those hikers were not wearing snow shoes and there were very deep postholes that were difficult to manage even with snow shoes especially through the thick brush. On our way out, we noticed a stick had been placed where we went wrong. We used light traction to the Engine Hill Express, then switched to snowshoes until we were back on Rocky Branch. This is such a great time to do this long hike |
