The mouth of Ravine lodge road was blocked by someones truck with cars flowing out onto the edge of the road. Decided to head over to Glencliff as extra vert is better than more road walk miles considering I'll get my fill tomorrow. It was fine with spikes car to car, didn't even bother bringing the snowshoes. Areas with some wind drift accumulation from yesterday evening's storm had a couple inches of soft chewed up powder atop the firm granular packed trail. Decent amount of blue ice flows above treeline but all super crunchy so was fine with sharp hillsound spikes. A few decent opportunities for sliding on the descent between the south peak spur and about 3500' on glencliff. First time on this trail in 5 years and just as steep as remembered. |
