|
 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
lot plowed, some people parked on the Kanc when I got down at 1. |
|
 | Surface Conditions: |
Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular, Snow/Ice - Frozen Granular |
|
 | Recommended Equipment: |
Light Traction |
|
 | Water Crossing Notes: |
All looked tricky, ice with significant running water. I, like most folks today, avoided water by doing the road bypass and then using the old route, which is packed down, to avoid the second two crossings. |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
a couple of minor blow downs, nothing difficult. Went up through the falls, icy ascent especially in the stairs section. Micros worked fine all day, but required attention through the falls area. |

 | Dog-Related Notes: |
saw none |

Champney Falls
spectacular morning, blue skies great walking conditions. Cold, 9 when I left the car, but no wind in spite of predictions. Great winter hike. |
