Parking/Access Road Notes: parking was full at the small parking area on Bangor Road but just down the road under the power lines parking was plentful.

Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Mud - Significant, Standing/Running Water on Trail

Water Crossing Notes: none 
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: a few blowdowns. Boggy area towards the upper reaches has logs for crossing but logs are in need of repair and replacement.

Dog-Related Notes: saw many happy dogs. Esp those dogs who like mud!

Comments: Lower part of the trail up th Mt Surprise is fine and dry. Upper reaches very muddy and wet. Ledgy areas were slick. Bring extra socks and good high waterproof boots! Summit is clear and gorgeous.
