Comments
Comments: A FINE day in Henry's Woods. Trails where lightning fast and great going. Sidewalks ripe for speed. I wore spikes virtually car to car with minimal effort. Road has minimal coating over fat ice. Initial mile or so of actual trail is boney with little cover. I only wore snowshoes to bushwhack on the way down, and then took them off after the brook crossings. Several familiar faces out today. Great weather with no wind aside from my heavy panting after the ascent of the 0.2 to Garfield summit proper. Commanding views into the Pemi, Presi and Sandwich Ranges, among other familiar friends. With Monday's warmup, these conditions will persist likely through your ascent, but probably be delightful and exciting on your way out. Not sure if its February or April.
