Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The crossing at 0.8 was the trickiest but my waterproof boots did their job. For my short legs there was one quick step that required a couple inches over the toe of the boot. The rest were a combination of bridged and hop-able. Bridges were deteriorating a bit on the way down.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: One big step over a little over a mile in.

Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Found one broken crampon spike at the Sabbaday junction. Bummer for whoever lost it!

Comments
Comments: In the interest of preserving my friendship with the Cone Demon I carried my snowshoes, but never used them as spikes were sufficient today after last night's cold temps. Plenty of evidence of hikers previously postholing in snowshoes in the warmer temps so my jog down involved lots of hole-dodging. The usual steep spots going up North were a bit icy but they all could be navigated with care. Not sure how today's snow may change that as the icy spots were getting hidden--when I was leaving the ridge there was 1/2-1" of new snow and it was falling steadily. Big shout out to the fellow gridder I ran into who recently turned 79 years young...an inspiration to us all!
