Did Avalon for sunrise. Cloud cover caused it not to be the best sunrise, but a summit sunrise is far from the worst way to start off a day. Trail conditions overall were very good. trail was narrow, but snow was packed as long as you kept to the center of the trail A few short sections of the Wiley trail we're the only parts where snowshoes might even possibly have been useful. I carried snowshoes but I didn't need them at all. Micro Spikes were more than enough.
Cloud cover was almost 100% on The limited views of field, Wiley, and Tom, but cleared up for a pretty great view at Willard |
