Not sure what Thursday and Friday’s warmer temps and rain will do to the trails, but man… the condition of Rocky Branch + Engine Hill Bushwhack + ISO Express + Davis were UNREAL. It really doesn't get better then this. We clocked in at 10.6 miles in 5.5 hours, thanks to the “paved” shortcuts. The trails and bushwhacks were completely packed down, creating a white sidewalk. You couldn't take a wrong turn if you tried. Snowshoes took a ride, as microspikes were more than enough today. The only post holing was off trail to let others pass by, and they were about 3-4 feet deep. The Presidentials were slightly cloud covered, but still a fantastic view! So happy that we decide to take the day off to conquer Isolation, and we were not the only ones, plenty of people on the trails. Keep your eyes out for the snowman! |
