Several stream crossings, but all were minimal depth and no wider than a meter. The rest were bridged well. |

Several hat grabbers and pack yankers looming above along the way; decent sized blowdowns that have presumably been there for awhile. All easily ducked under. |

| Lost and Found: |
I'm the one guilty of losing the Evo Ascent snowshoe, which RobargeDuMont found/noted is at the trailhead sign. I'd love some help getting it back. |

Glorious last day of a hard packed trail before the thaw/ rain/ freeze cycle starts on the 17th. RobargeDuMont described conditions perfectly in an earlier post, hence the shameless c/p for the fields above. Of course the change in weather has likely rendered this description moot. I opted for microspikes, which again had no effect on the solid hardpack. Coming down from the South peak, glissade conditions were perfect, practically mandatory. My rookie move was not noticing that my snowshoes had been stripped off my pack until I was nearly at the junction with the climb to the North Summit. I ended up hiking all the way back up to the South summit to retrieve them, but only found one. Big thanks to Robarge/whoever put it at the trailhead, but I can't get back there easily. Days in the Whites are special - and too rare! I'll happily pay a reward and shipping costs if anyone can conveniently retrieve it. Thanks! |
