Comments
Comments: Snow will be SOFT tomorrow, so PLEASE wear SNOWSHOES! Snowpack is still full and over a foot deep.

Trail up to the Whiteface junction was pretty rough in places with postholes and divots. Beyond that junction and to the ridge, the Piper-Whiteface is a postholed disaster. HORRIBLE. One of the advantages of wearing snowshoes today was the ability to get around the mess on the wider (ledges) stretches of trail.

With temperatures in the upper 30s, the hard pack was just starting to soften up. The warm weather tomorrow will be the chance to snowshoe and fix this mess.
