|Hiking Trail Conditions Report|
||Mt. Chocorua, NH|
||Brook Trail, Liberty Trail|
|Date of Hike:
||Friday, September 9, 2011|
|Parking/Access Road Notes:
||Plenty of parking at the Paugus Rd. area. |
||Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Mud - Significant, Standing/Running Water on Trail |
|Water Crossing Notes:
||Lots of water everywhere. Wider areas and crossings all rock hoppable. |
|Trail Maintenance Notes:
||Very wet trail with lots of running water down the trail which was eroded in places. A few duck under blowdowns. |
||Didn't see anydogs today and while there is lots of water for them I think they would have trouble with the upper part of the trails. |
|Lost and Found:
||I joined Carl R's group for a great day out on new trails to most of us. 9 men and one women...who could do beter than that!|
Brook trail was very wet. The scramble up the last .2 miles was very challenging both up and down. Wind blowing hard at the top but the views were great. Liberty trail in good condition and seemingly much easier (!) on the way down.
Thanks to Carl for a great hike.
