Comments
Comments: Really warm lead to mashed potato trail conditions. Nice trench has been laid down. Above the switchbacks snow from trees had filled trench. 2 with shoes & 2 on skis packed this back down. This had setup solid on my return. Solo on top for a few, really windy, beautiful views. Lunch at junction out of wind. Passed 6 heading down including 2 carrying shoes. Past the switchbacks trail chopped up. Same. 4 with proper gear smoothed it out, but I’m sure it’s bad again. Cold temps will make this an ankle breaking stretch. Hopefully some snow will fix this. Snowshoes are a must. Too bad this trail could have been a solid highway on Sunday.
