The entire route except for the stretch between liberty & haystack was a beautiful snowshoe track. I’ve never seen OBP in such good condition…barely a posthole to be found. Liberty to haystack was broken out (yesterday I believe by Kyle….thank you) but still soft. The cold temps tonight & tomorrow should firm up the route perfectly for spikes for the coming days. If I were to do this traverse though I’d still bring the shoes because they’ll be helpful between liberty & haystack. Winds were pretty gnarley on the ridge today…definitely more than I prefer…but we’re on a mission so we had to give it a go. Live to die another day. 101/SSW115 |
