| Comments: |
Barebooted on moderately-packed power to Gem Pool, crampons or snowshoes to Lakes of the Clouds Hut, all three wore snowshoes to Monroe and back. We tried to keep packing the trail with snowshoes on the way down, but it was too slippery, so we switched to crampons to Gem Pool.
Just no warm enough for the powder to pack yet.
Above tree line the snowshoe trench bears too far north, leaving the main trail well below the hut. We tried to pack the main trail on our way down, but lost it in the brush.
With an earlier start we could have summited Big George instead. |
