Comments
Comments: Snow is not completely consolidated along LST. Even less so from about the tent site to Franconia Ridge over to Flume. Recommend snowshoes to pack it down before the freeze on Sunday, otherwise it will be a mess.

The top of the track to Flume from Liberty summit was completely drifted but the snowshoer ahead of me broke it out. By the time I returned to Liberty summit from Flume, tracks had been blown in but trough was still visible enough to follow. There did not appear to be any tracks coming from Osseo. There were some faint drifted tracks heading toward Little Haystack and there was a somewhat visible trough.

Four NH-ites had an early start from the Basin lot. First two booted for about the first/last mile from/to the Basin lot then snowshoes up to Liberty and back down. Myself and the other wore snowshoes from the snowmobile trail to Flume and back down. Saw two nice ladies on my descent (one NH, one MA both in snowshoes). There was the beginning of a near perfect snowshoe track, however, two barebooters/spikers (NH plates in lot if they parked at Basin) started up later and divoted the length of LST. One was before the last 2 snowshoers descended so they would be able to flatten her tracks. The last one was on his way up after the last two snowshoers so they would not have been able to flatten his tracks. Expect LST to be divoted with some postholes later Friday/beginning Saturday.
