Comments
Comments: Skied the beginning of Spruce Goose XC trail from highway side to campground (broken out by skis and snowshoes). From there switched to the road..super sticky snow on the trail, road was much more fun. Ski trail at the Hale Brook side was completely unbroken. Zealand Road was an easy ski in/out, would recommend snowshoes if you’re not skiing.

Switched to snowshoes for Hale Brook trail. Had been broken following Friday’s storm, thankfully, but not well compacted. Today’s storm dropped 5-8” of fresh wet sticky snow, plus some sections were quite drifted (ie, sidehill section and near summit). In summary: trail is broken but very soft, gonna want snowshoes for a while yet, especially with warm temps this week.
