Comments
Comments: The trail leading in is heavily packed by snowmobile traffic. I heard a couple sleds but did not see any on the .75 out or back. The hiking trail was unbroken since the last storm and the cairn was buried in snow. Lower part was fairly easy to follow based on the shape of the land and despite few blazes. As the trail ascends up the steep sections, the underlayer of crust made for slippery work even with snowshoes. The trail also became a little more difficult to follow. The bulge of rock at the top was challenging and I found the best way over to be to the far left where the slope of land was gentlest. Clear and calm conditions on top, and undisturbed. I ran into two other hikers and dog on the descent which helped in packing out the trail further although snowshoes are still required to avoid post-holing.
