Comments
Comments: Webster Jackson trail to mount Jackson branch and back to the trailhead. Crawford path out and back

An amazing day in the southern presis. The wind picked up throughout the day which made summiting pierce bone chillingly cold. Saw a mix of snowshoers, spikes, and bare booters (highly don’t recommend they all were struggling!!). I wore snowshoes on the way up and spikes on the way down. The snow was still pretty soft but no post holing occurred. I passed the pemi SAR on a training hike and after the group of them traveling up and down Jackson I don’t think snowshoes would be needed unless you wanted to take advantage of the heel lift bar on the uphill. The summit of Jackson was icy and warranted spikes. If you bring shoes you’ll want the spikes for this section for sure. Crawford path was looking in good shape only some short drifts below the summit of pierce per usual
