Valley Way has seen a lot of traffic. I used snow shoes but the monorail(???) is stable. .1 of some deep post-hole snow after the hut then bare rock all the way up to Madison. Snow shoes went back on after Adams on gulfside. Mostly needed right after Adams but some pockets of deep snow closer to Jefferson too. There is one part of gulfside, right before the Jefferson summit loop where I would have really liked to have an ice axe for self arrest in case I fell but I didn't have one so I just had to be super careful. |
