All were frozen and snow covered. You wouldn't even know there were any water crossings. |

One big tree about 4 feet above the snow as you start the Avalon Spur trail. |

I wear snowshoes the entire day. Only saw two others doing the same, everyone else were in spikes. Trails are well packed, except
there were some knee-deep postholes on Avalon Trail just before the spur trail. You can do it in spikes, but I always figure, this
time of year, you automatically should be wearing snowshoes.
