Tracy & I were suprised that we would be first on trail at 10 AM…smooth to the Wilderness sign then some unconsolidated snow/drifts from the beginning of the steeps all the way to Middle.. route finding was difficult in 1 area (you’ll know where when you follow my snowshoe tracks in a circle🤷ðŸ¼â€â™‚ï¸)…a few drifts were in the 2’ range… coming down off of North on our way out we came across 3 barebooters who thanked us for breaking trail… the postholes they had made on our fresh trail was discouraging.. I told them it was much easier to hike with the snowshoes🤷ðŸ¼â€â™‚ï¸.. anyone that read the latest report from the TealGoat would have known… never mind the wind/snow event on Saturday..they never went to North… so a trail is broken out but be ready to encounter some deep postholes above the Wilderness sign up to N Tripyramid… and use snowshoes, it’ll be MUCH easier |
