Comments
Comments: Went up Jackson so I could go down the absolute dream called Crawford path. Felt absolutely balmy after the past couple weeks. Wore hillsound spikes the entire day as the snowshoes got a free ride, had to bring them due to the absence of any reports about Jackson to Mitzpah, sigh deadweight unnecessarily carried. If possible I prefer to go up Jackson cuz those ledges can be a handful, today they were in good shape but below the Bugle cliff spur woulda been an absolute chore to the car as lots of extremely packed snow and greasy trail. Webster cliff trail was well consolidated in the foot track but step off and its easily 1'+ deep. Super slidy and slippery unconsolidated snow coming down the steep section off Jackson then pretty good from the bog over to Pierce. Decent amount of drifts between Pierce and Ike but the benefit of a later start going against the grain meant they were pretty beat down by the time we got there early afternoon. That nice mean winter wind climbing up and tagging the summit of Ike made it feel cold but it was a nice enough day that I brought the trailrunners like the gridiot I am. Crawford path once it ducks into the trees off Pierce to head down is a well packed sidewalk that made for cruising velocity back to the car. Parked at crawford depot and did the short roadwalks on each end for fun
