Comments
Comments: A good highish temperature, low wind day for these three peaks. Low/No visibility on Eisenhower and the big peaks beyond but we got some nice views from Jackson. We used Hillsounds start to finish. There was no wind in the trees and a stiff 10-15 mph on the ascent of Ike and a stiff 20-25 mph on top which made for nice January conditions. Crawford Path to Pierce and Webster Jackson are nicely packed super highways. The trek across to Eisenhower was packed with about 1 to 2 inches of loose powder on top and some ankle deep drifts. Being the first travellers of the day, some very minor morning drifting made for some extra effort to find the travelled trough at times, but the trough is well defined for the entire trek. The path from Pierce to Jackson was packed with about 2 to 3 inches of loose powder on top and heavily barebooted but still easily travelled with no hard packed or deep divots. This stretch had the most hiker traffic we'd seen. It was nice to talk with Cynthia and a few other hikers on the trail.
